5. Authorized Use of Amazon Assets

Best Practices for Amazon Associates Compliance

Amazon Associates policies place strict requirements on how product data and assets may be used. To protect your account and your commissions, you must follow specific technical protocols when using DripBox to display Amazon products.

DripBox is built to accommodate these rules, but the execution is in your hands.

Rule #1: Use Official Integration Methods

Amazon Associates policies place strict restrictions on the storage, display, and use of product images and other marketplace assets. Users should avoid local hosting or other methods unless clearly permitted by Amazon Associates.

This means you should not save an Amazon product image to your computer and then upload it to your WordPress site. Instead, you should use the Amazon Product Advertising API (PA API) or SiteStripe to generate the image URLs.

These methods help users rely on official Amazon delivery mechanisms for product assets, which is generally the safer compliance approach.

Rule #2: Real-Time Pricing and Availability

Pricing and availability claims must remain accurate and compliant with the relevant affiliate network’s rules. When in doubt, avoid displaying static pricing and direct users to check the latest price on the merchant’s site. If you manually type a price into a DripBox, it becomes “static” and will eventually become inaccurate.

Amazon views “stale” pricing as misleading to the consumer. To remain safe, we recommend either:

  1. Using an API integration that updates prices automatically.
  2. Clearly stating the price and date checked, such as: Price as of March 15, 2026 at 10:00 AM EST — though this approach requires frequent manual updates and is not recommended for large sites.
  3. Using buttons like “Check Price on Amazon” instead of listing a specific dollar amount.

Rule #3: The Mandatory Disclosure

Amazon Associates requires a disclosure statement to appear on qualifying pages or sites in accordance with its program policies: “As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.” DripBox provides the layout to convert users, but you must ensure this legal text is present on your site, typically in the footer or near the DripBox display itself.

Avoid “Black-Hat” Shortcuts: Do not use DripBox to scrape Amazon data or to display fabricated star ratings presented as Amazon customer review scores. Editorial ratings based on your own product testing are acceptable. Amazon actively monitors compliance with its program policies. Users should avoid unauthorized asset use, misleading claims, or simulated ratings and reviews.

Use DripBox to build trust through clean design, not to bypass the technical requirements of the Amazon Associates program.
